The
Making
Our
pashmina sweaters are either 100% hand-woven or
produced entirely by machine. The hand weaving of
sweaters is carried out in the traditional Nepali
way by local weavers. Even the manufacturing of
machine made sweaters is carried out by the locally
trained semi skilled people. The Traditional method
of making 100% hand-woven sweaters as well as the
machine manufacturing of cashmere sweaters requires
a lot of patience and skill.
The
whole process of manufacturing a cashmere sweater
is as follows:
Weaving
:
This is the process of locking the warp with the
weft (pashmina yarn). This is done with the help
of Knitting needles if the sweater is hand made.
But if it is a machine woven sweater the machine
loom the pashmina yarn. While weaving machine made
sweaters
Drafting:
Drafting also
takes place. It is the process of inserting pashmina
into netting's to form different patterns on the
sweaters.
Mending
:
Mending is the process where woven shawls are checked
for damages. Weavers fill in the missing threads
with the help of needles and pashmina yarn.
Washing
:
The sweaters are washed after it is finished in
order to wash away the odor and allow the shrinkage
of the sweaters to prevent it from damage later.
It is also done to remove the stains, which it could
have collected during the process of making the
shawls.
Dyeing
:
This
is the process of giving the sweaters the color
the customers wants the sweaters to have. In this
process the sweaters are dyed in big vessels at
100 degree Celsius. The sweaters have to be constantly
stirred in order to give the sweaters uniform color.
The temperature has to be maintained at 100 degree
Celsius and if the temperature increase the sweaters
could shrink.

entire process of manufacturing Pashmina/Cashmere
